can a design service make you fall in love?
You want a new look for your home, but you don’t know how to start. Lucky you! It’s the time of year for spreading love and who better to show love to than yourself! As most people know, even the airlines recognize that we must take care of ourselves before taking care of others (oxygen mask on yourself first), and that applies to your home, too. Your bedroom is the perfect place to surround yourself with things you love.
It’s important to full your own cup as it empties due to the daily tasks you must accomplish. All day you work, give to others, and get stuff done. It’s time to fill up your cup with surroundings that help you take care of you. Our Bedroom Makeover Special is going on now. Love yourself, love your bedroom. A good design in your home can accomplish a lot of things. Your surroundings can change your mood, help you relax, and unwind from a busy day.
Recently, we worked with a client in Howard County on a bedroom design and she was so thrilled with the outcome that she screamed with happiness. Her shout brought her young daughter to the room. The little girl said, “Mommy! Your room looks like a hotel.” Icing on the cake for our client!
Hiring a professional designer sounds like something only wealthy people do, but we have lots of clients who only need a little help, as well as those who contract us for every room in their home. We do it all!

We’ve got tips, teasers, and ideas that will help you create a relaxing and fun bedroom. It’s as easy as 1-2-3.
1. Color palette.
This room is for you. Or for you and your partner. Pick colors you love and colors that help you relax. One of our favorite bedroom colors is Sherwin Williams Sea Salt – a green-blue that great for a bedroom!
2. Pillows and lots of them.
Pillows bring a sense of luxury to a bed. Choose one or two colors you enjoy that contrast your bedspread for a cohesive look and add an oversized throw to the bottom of your bed to bring texture and more color.
3. Declutter like crazy.
Your room will feel more relaxing if the floor is cleared off and the flat surfaces display only nice things. If you find yourself leaving clothes, keys, and wallets on the dresser, think about clearing a space in the drawer for those items. Then, place only items you love to look at on top. You may even find yourself smiling and breathing deeper when you enter your room or crawl into bed at night.
You deserve a peaceful retreat of a bedroom. Consider this your reminder to put yourself and your needs first one in a while. Shamrock Hill Design is here for all of your design and home staging needs.
